What are the rules on annual leave in the UK?
Legally, almost all individuals classed as workers in the UK are entitled to 5.6 weeks’ paid holiday a year. This is what’s known as statutory leave entitlement, or annual leave. Those classed as workers include agency workers, workers with irregular working hours and those on zero-hours contracts. Bank holidays can be included as part of statutory annual leave, should an employer choose to do so.
